Looking for a unique, creative, and engaging after-school program for your child? Speckled Frogs Arthouse is a privately operated after-school care program for children in Grades 1–6 attending Varsity Acres Elementary School. Founded and operated by resident artist and primary caregiver Jennifer Peters, the program has been providing a creative, hands-on environment for children for over 15 years. Our goal is to give children a safe and welcoming space where they can learn through play, explore their creativity, develop critical thinking skills, and build confidence. 🎨 What Makes Speckled Frogs Arthouse Different? Our programs focus on: Hands-on learning and creative exploration Open-ended activities Art and creative workshops Learning through play Opportunities to explore and challenge themselves Activities that encourage independent thinking Regular outdoor activities and excursions Opportunities to interact with and care for animals Children also have the opportunity to enjoy the company of our wonderful animal "staff," including two friendly dogs, three cats, and a fish tank full of fascinating discoveries! 🐶🐱🐠 🎨 Art Workshops Our bi-weekly art workshops are designed to encourage creativity, experimentation, and self-expression while allowing children to learn at their own pace. 📍 Convenient Location We are located just one block from Varsity Acres Elementary School, making the program especially convenient for families with children attending the school. To provide the best possible experience for the children, we do not offer drop-off or pick-up services at other schools. Jennifer is also fluent in French. 🕐 Hours Monday–Friday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM 💰 Rates Before & After School Care: $725/month After School Care Only: $675/month Art Workshops: $35 per workshop $120/month – 1 workshop per week $250/month – bi-weekly workshops ⭐ Limited Availability As a smaller, personalized program, full-time placements are based on goodness of fit rather than simply first-come, first-served registration. Only two spaces are currently expected to become available for the fall, and spaces tend to fill quickly.
